Dr. Suzanne McCotter, Dean of the School of Education, has graciously agreed to serve as chair. Under her leadership, the Implementation Task Force will collaborate on initiatives as assigned by the Steering Committee, consisting of John P. Donohue, Vice President for College Advancement, Dr. Christopher T. Fisher, Associate Professor of History, and me. These initiatives, which support the remaining three recommendations within the report issued by the Advisory Commission on Social Justice: Race and Educational Attainment, include:

  • A recruitment event for Trenton and Ewing students
  • A visibility campaign within the Trenton/Ewing area
  • TCNJ/Trenton history gallery in Trenton Hall
  • Enhancement of welcoming programs for TCNJ students from Trenton and Ewing
  • A comprehensive inventory of programs, projects, and initiatives between TCNJ and the communities of Trenton and Ewing.

While the individuals above will be leading these efforts, please know that the work this group aims to achieve requires the insight, collaboration and talents of members of the campus, Trenton, and Ewing communities.

The task force will provide updates to the community as their work progresses throughout the academic year. I thank all members of the task force in advance for their commitment to addressing these issues.

Sincerely,

R. Barbara Gitenstein
